After a few weeks of figuring out webpage design, I've got a new website, it integrates my main photography site with my blog - so unfortunately I wont be posting here anymore...However the good news is I'll be continuing my blog here. Below is the a video slideshow of Lee and Leanne's Wedding at Samlesbury Hall. I provide a 'highlights slideshow' DVD for all my weddings (as well as providing all images on CD).

As you can see, the vast majority of my images are documentary style; the day being photographed as it unfolds without any posing - natural images that show the day perfectly!

Happy New Year

2010 is coming to an end, I now have a wife - and a house, its been a great year! I started this blog a year ago tomorrow, its flown by. I've not managed to update it as much as I hoped, but maybe I will improve next year!

Photography wise I shot my first weddings and really enjoyed them all! Next year I should have my studio ready, and Laura and I are traveling to Japan, Australia and the USA in April, cant wait!!

We are having a fancy dress New Years Eve party tonight, should be interesting (I wont say who I'm going as, but its not a man!). Hopefully we wont be to loud for the new neighbors.

Samlesbury Hall Wedding Photography

I recently photographed the wedding of Lee and Leanne at Samlesbury Hall in Lancashire. After a couple of initial scares (DJ in an accident, Horse and Carriage snowed in!) everything came together perfectly for a great day. Leanne decorated Samlesbury Hall herself, even down to mistletoe strategically placed over doorways! It looked amazing...

Yesterday was the wedding of Kirsty and Paul. Although both from the North West, they chose to get married at Middleton Lodge in North Yorkshire - when you see the venue it's easy to see why they picked it!

Thornton Manor Wedding Photography

You may remember a few weeks ago I posted some pre wedding shots of Chris and Jen.... Well, a couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of being the photographer at their wedding. After some preparation shots of Jen and the bridesmaids getting married, I headed to St Georges Church to capture the ceremony. Everyone then headed over to the beautiful Thornton Manorfor the reception. The grounds provided some lovely surroundings for a few posed shots, and the weather was warm enough for drinks and canapés outside!

It was a wonderful day, below are some of the shots taken (more on my facebook page) - as with all my weddings, the majority of shots are unposed documentary style...

Portraits in Wilmslow

This weekend I headed to Wilmslow to take pictures of Carrie. She was a great little star - always smiling, perfect for a photographer and made my job very easy :-)

Along with Mum and Dad, we headed to The Carrs for some nice autumn shots. Carrie loved watching the trees and playing with the leaves!

We headed back home where Carrie had some dinner -her favorite time of the day usually, but she was so interested in my camera that the food didn't vanish quite as quick as normally - we then took some shots at home. A few sneak photos below....

Last week I was taking photos at the wedding of Liann and Jeff at Ashfield House in Standish. It was a really great day and fun was had by all! Liann and Jeff are now on honeymoon in Cape Verde, having a great time no doubt!

Italian Wedding

After nearly 4 weeks in Italy, I'm back in England a married man! Laura and I got married in the small town of Palombara Sabina near Rome – the weather was perfect (although a very dark cloud did make an appearance) and the day was brilliant.

After the wedding, our honeymoon took us on a mini tour of Italy, including Sorrento, Capri, Florence, Umbria, Lake Garda and Milan. I've not had time to download the pictures from my memory cards yet – but I'll post some here soon.

Below are some photos taken on our wedding day by our photographer Giuseppe Voci and his second shooter Nico. Big thanks to both as the pictures are amazing – if you are thinking of getting married in Italy – he's the man!

On Thursday Laura and I are off to Italy to get married! We are getting married on the 1st September in a small medieval castle North of Rome - still not got everything sorted yet!! I will not return until the 20th September, so will be unable to reply to any emails during the next few weeks.

Latitude & Move

Its been a very busy few weeks. In Mid July we moved into our new house in Cheadle Hulme, South Manchester - we have finally managed to unload most of the boxes! Within the next couple of months I will be working on the large double garage (pics uploaded soon), and it should soon be ready as my photography studio!

Just a day after getting the keys, Laura and I drove down to Suffolk to the Latitude Festival. It was nice and sunny and we had a great time.We did loads, including watching Tom Jones in the woods, seeing Florence & the Machine and lots of comedy. A few pictures from the weekend are below - just taken with a digital compact camera...

David & Emma - Midland Hotel

Last weekend I had the pleasure of taking wedding photos of Emma and David. The ceremony and reception was at the Midland hotel in Manchester, its a great venue. Twas a long day, starting with Emma and her bridesmaids getting ready, to the dancing afterwards - but I had a great time, as did all the guests! More pics will be on my website soon...

World Cup time

The world cup is here at last...whooooooo! A few drinks during the England game last night (and a few after). Not the best performance ever, lets hope we'll improve on Friday.

Alex and Helen Wedding

Yesterday was Alex and Helens wedding at Norcliffe Chapel in Styal. Despite my fears of rain it was a gorgeous day and the whole day was brilliant!

I'm going to edit the shots over the next couple of weeks, and hope to have them ready for when Alex and Helen arrive back from their honeymoon in NYC, so I will post more then. In the meantime here is a selection of shots that caught my eye when uploading to my computer...

On Saturday I had a pre wedding photo shoot with good friends Aj and Helen. We walked around Styal country park in Cheshire looking for good locations....The weather was great and helped us get some fun pics.

They are getting married in just 10 days time, so lets hope the weather is just as good then!

Yesterday I went to visit baby Marissa Kerr, just one day old! I Captured a few shots at the hospital, but will hopefully get the chance to take a few more shots in the next week or so. Congratulations to Dan, Annie and big sister Beth!!

Printing On Metal

After hearing some great things about a relatively new company called Printing On Metal I contacted Chris to get some further information....to cut a long story short I'm very impressed by the products his company offers and have agreed to sell my fine art prints exclusively withPrinting On Metal!

As the name suggests, images are printed directly onto metal, however unlike other companies, this is far superior Giclee printing at high resolution. They also provide acrylic blocks and are expanding their range.

A couple of videos featuring demonstrating the product (using my photos) can be found on you tube here.

I should have some sample products soon, and portrait images will also be available using this product.

I've added a few of my music photos taken at gigs over the past couple of years onto flikr. I usually manage to get some good shots with my 'non SLR' camera -although I had my camera confiscated whilst watching the Queens of the Stone age last year! I wasnt impressed but managed to get it back.

A photography tip for anyone at a gig - turn off your flash! it will only light up the head of the person infront of you!

I've had a flikr account for the past year, but until this month it only contained 2 photos.

I'm often out and about and spot a good picture - but don't have my camera, arhh! I usually take a snap on my camera phone and thats the end of that. However I've discovered just how easy it is to take/edit/upload photos from my iphone to flikr and share them with the world.
